Jerry Jones turns up heat on Jason Garrett

09:26 AM ET 02.24 | Jerry Jones looked relaxed, sitting in his plush, new bus Saturday as he visited with reporters for nearly two hours. But his appearance didn't represent the way he feels about the state of the team he owns. In reality, Jones is uncomfortable and dissatisfied. The Cowboys have finished 8-8 each of the last two seasons, a period he called the most disappointing he's experienced since buying the franchise in 1989. "There is a lot of resolve here and not a lot of patience with where we are," Jones said. "We've got to start knocking on the door." Seconds later, Jones added that coach Jason Garrett "senses that." For much of the off-season, many have accused Jones of launching a campaign aimed at stripping Garrett's power. It's a charge Jones adamantly denied Saturday. Jones said that the six new assistants who have joined the organization since the beginning of the new year were hired by Garrett. "It should be very clear that I'm not making the coaching changes," Jones asserted. He's also not forcing Garrett to surrender his play-calling duties. Rather, Jones told Garrett "it is no longer a prerequisite of mine" for the head coach to have that additional role.

Here's to the hope that Dallas never gets to host a playoff game in their new stadium. JJ being involved with the team is almost certain to make that dream a reality.

I do not think Jerry is lying here.
I think Jerry probably told Garrett to make changes and that he has 1 season to get his butt in the playoffs and make a move.
Granted, Jerry has had his GM issues but I think it is fantasy to believe that Jerry is making all of these coaching moves.

JJ has a never ending four leaf clover in his pocket that he consults. One day he loves you, the next day he does not. One day he wants an OC, the next day he does not. The man has never had a clear message on running that team. He blows with the wind and that clover leaf.

Garrett has always been a class act and highly regarded in NFL front offices. He will be around, somewhere for a long time. If the ship goes down it will be because a lot of people were poking holes in the hull.
