Tubby Smith may have to replace Gophers staff

10:13 AM ET 02.24 | If Gophers men's basketball coach Tubby Smith is retained for next season, at the very least he's expected to have to replace some of his assistants. The top guy Smith should seek is DeLaSalle boys basketball coach Dave Thorson. Thorson is a tireless former Gophers assistant and top recruiter who has DeLaSalle ranked among the top 25 high school teams in the nation by PrepNation. He coaches 6-foot-7, 225-pound Reid Travis, who with Apple Valley's Tyus Jones and Robbinsdale Cooper's Rashad Vaughn are nationally ranked juniors.
