07:08 PM ET 02.24 | Going into today's offensive skill position workouts, most scouts and experts expected Marquise Goodwin, wide receiver from Texas, to post solid times in the 40 yard dash. He's a track athlete who competed in the highest levels a college athlete can at track events in between Longhorn football seasons. But when Tavon Austin and Ryan Swope showed up, they did so as productive receivers in college, looking to back up their on-the-field efforts with solid workouts. As far as measurables go, Swope and Austin did just that. Tavon Austin posted an unofficial 4.25 second 40-yard dash, only to have it adjusted to 4.34 for official timing. Swope also posted a 4.34 in his 40, and disproved scouting reports doubting his straight line speed. Swope also leaped up the charts with a 37-inch vertical leap, and for the 6-foot-tall wide receiver, this creates a potent mix of size, speed, and leaping ability. Austin posted a top time in the 20 yard shuttle, and Swope put up good numbers in the 3 cone drill, meaning both receivers showed good burst, balance, and agility in these drills.
