08:36 AM ET 02.25 | The Panthers lost for the fifth consecutive time at BB&T Center on Sunday as the tan and rested Bruins finally left town after picking up a 4-1 victory in which Florida coach Kevin Dineen benched Stephen Weiss for much of the third period. "This will turn around somewhere along the line," said Dineen, whose team hasn't won at home since beating Winnipeg on Jan. 31. "I think there's a clear understanding on how we have to play. We can preach it and ask it, but we've done a lot of talking. Now it's time for more direct action." Weiss' struggles this season have been well documented, although Dineen had kept him on Florida's top line. Sunday, Dineen put Weiss with productive wingers Jonathan Huberdeau and Peter Mueller to start. It didn't last. By the end of the game, Weiss -- Florida's all-time leader in games played with the franchise -- was on the bench. Weiss had been on Florida's fourth line for a time, but when the Panthers had a 6-on-4 chance, he wasn't around to help out.

This is not how to play in your UFA year, sir.

I would agree, but my only contention would be, is he playing like this to get out of South Florida?

He's gone regardless Tallon will be shopping him

That to me, would be worse than a team tanking to get a high draft pick

Its never a good thing when a Player wearing an A on his jersey gets benched.

He's been taking "how to suck in your UFA year" Skype lessons from Ryan Whitney in Edmonton.

Is Kevin Dineen an NHL-ready coach at this time?

I guess it's still better than taking it from Tim Connolly.

Yet another one of Burkie's shrewd moves.

I guess he doesn't like 15' pythons in his back yard when he's trying to relax by the pool.

There are snakes in this Motherf***in' pool!

I just don't get why he just doesn't do a dive down and wait to be trade bait to say.... Vancouver for an elusive goaltender who shall remain nameless...

Weiss has been my favorite player for some time, but all things are ugly this year. He's a deadline mover, for sure. Blow it all up and build around Superdeau.

He's always said he likes it here, and he's a fan favorite, but the window is closing on his career and he has exactly 7 playoff games to show for it.
