08:17 AM ET 02.25 | Penguins center Evgeni Malkin was diagnosed with a concussion and will miss at least the next three games, coach Dan Bylsma said Sunday night. The Penguins' next three games are on the road. Malkin, 26, the defending NHL scoring champion and MVP, did not play against Tampa Bay Sunday night at Consol Energy Center or participate in the morning skate. Malkin's back and head slammed into the end boards and his neck snapped violently in the third period of a game Friday night after he was checked by Florida defenseman Erik Gudbranson. Bylsma said Malkin had some short-term memory loss after the hit, although that has dissipated. Bylsma said Malkin did not have headaches or disorientation, which can be concussion symptoms. As per NHL protocol and the latest in treatment of concussions, Malkin will need to be free of symptoms and get medical clearance before he can skate, practice, have contact and, finally, return to the lineup.

Interestingly, I am also suffering from similar symptoms however I am unsure as to whether it???s because I have a concussion or am simply still suffering the side effects of the last weekend.

I'd say it was the latter and have a couple of fried egg, bacon and cheese Sandwiches and roll on.

Malkin needed the hit to come to his senses in my opinion though, I'm glad he's not overly hurt, but still.... a jolt can help you awaken from a malaise.

Matt Cooke is somehow responsible !!

Good win by the Flegms last night. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. If you win a few more, you might make the playoffs but ... you'll miss out on the sweepstakes for that 1st overall pick.

When they win the Cup this Spring they will not be worrying about draft picks ;-)

They honored him at the game last night for getting his 200 assist.
Sutter moved up to the 2nd line nicely. Double B with his first goal and it was the game winner.
Hope Geno Machino isn't out too long.

The third possibility is that you've been a Leafs fan for so long.
