12:48 PM ET 02.25 | Pittsburgh Penguins superstar forward Evgeni Malkin has been diagnosed with a concussion and is suffering from short-term memory loss after a nasty collision with boards on Friday night. Malkin was injured after taking a shove from defenseman Erik Gudbranson of the Florida Panthers, with his head whiplashing violently when colliding with the boards behind the net. Malkin has been ruled out indefinitely with no time line for his return.

I know what you mean. Seems like his butt hit first and that crated a whipping action with his head. I've read where the actual hit to the head doesn't usually cause the concussion, rather its the movement of the head.
