01:23 PM ET 02.25 | With Chip Kelly electing to keep quarterback Michael Vick next season, backup Nick Foles could be a hot commodity for teams in need of a signal-caller. One of those teams, the Kansas City Chiefs, has apparently been in discussions with Philadelphia regarding a possible trade for Foles. New Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is familiar with Foles from his time in charge with the Eagles, and Kansas City approached Philadelphia last week during the NFL combine. However, they Eagles remained adamant that Foles is unavailable.

I think what they are saying is that the Niners are already admitting they have a trade in place for Alex Smith. The assumption is that it's with the Chiefs.

Not in Kelly's scheme. They'd be better with Geno Smith as a backup-in-waiting.
