03:58 PM ET 02.25 | Andre Drummond suffered a stress fracture in his back that was diagnosed on Feb. 8. Then, it was said the Detroit Pistons rookie could miss four to six weeks resting and rehabbing, but the Detroit Free Press reports that the big man could return to the court in around a week. The team designed its own back brace for the 7'1 center, who was selected No. 9 overall by Detroit in the 2012 draft, and the time off has seen the 19-year-old recover more quickly than expected. That's good news considering he's been one of the most impressive rookies this year by averaging 7.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. The initial report of Drummond's back injury came less than a week after his potential showed in an 18-point, 18-rebound outing in a Jan. 30 game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
