06:03 PM ET 02.25 | The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed star forward Evgeni Malkin on injured reserve due to a concussion, according to an announcement on NHL.com. Malkin had sustained a head injury in the team's game against the Florida Panthers on Friday night. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Malkin was suffering from concussion symptoms and was feeling disoriented. Head coach Dan Bylsma later confirmed these symptoms and stated that Malkin had sustained a concussion. As of this time, the team has yet to release any kind of time-table for when Malkin would make his return. Entering Monday night, Malkin had accumulated 21 points in 18 games this season.

Three Malkin threads today. I'm honestly sorry he got hurt, as I would be with any player. I hope he's back much sooner, rather than later. But, really. Maybe I can get on a list to be called if he starts to skate in practice again, or is thinking about it. What did he have for dinner on Saturday? Sunday? Did he sleep OK last night? For God's sake.
