David Schlemko extended by Coyotes

06:06 PM ET 02.25 | The Phoenix Coyotes have extended the contract of defenseman David Schlemko, according to an announcement by general manager Don Maloney on the team's official website on Monday afternoon. While the terms of the deal were not readily available, multiple reports have stated that the two-year deal will carry an annual average value of $1.19 million. Schlemko had been playing in the final year of a three-year, $1.65 million deal, which carried an AAV of $550,000. He was scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the year. In nine games played this season, Schlemko has recorded two assists and is second on the team in blocked shots with 26.
