08:18 AM ET 02.26 | Credit Zack Greinke for his honesty, which may or may not serve him well in the future. Doesn't have it in him to lie. Just can't do it. He tells you flat out his free agency was about the money, first and foremost. Others claim it isn't, but they're fibbing. ... [Money] in free agency, to him, was no small thing. "It's obviously the No. 1 thing," Greinke said. "I could play for the worst team if they paid the most ... If the last place team offers $200 million and the first-place team offers $10, I'm going to go for the $200-million no matter what team it was." ... [The Dodgers and Rangers] made final offers that were said by two different people in the know to have been either "similar" or "very close."

It is good to hear something we already knew that they are greedy, don't care about winning anymore, and just like to be center of attention.

The Dodgers will regret signing this guy.

Glad the Rangers did not get him. He obvously cares more about money..and doesn't REALLY care about winning. You don't want that type of guy on your team. THe Moose is correct...Dodgers will regret this.....

Just remember, with the money comes high expectations.

He may be one of a handful of regrets they may end up having.

Agreed, they seemed to be like a kid in a candy store at the end of last year, gobbling up whatever they laid their eyes on............

Yeah, for us redsox fans, the dodgers were the only good thing to happen during the Valentine year.

I don't think it's necessarily greedy. He is just stating facts. If someone offers me substantially more money - I am taking it. That is more money for my family, period. You only get a couple of shots at free agency, so why would you take less?

It's easy for fans to knock guys who don't take discounts, but 10 million here or 5 million there - it adds up as lost revenue - money that most guys will never get back.

Do you guys honestly believe Money isn't number one with a majority of professional athletes?
