08:22 AM ET 02.26 | Among the lead storylines to follow during this edition of a spring football season is how things will go at Southern Cal. Make or break for Kiffin: After entering last season as the preseason No. 1 team in America, USC severely underachieved. So head coach Lane Kiffin will be entering a crucial season hoping to avoid getting dismissed by athletic director Pat Haden. ... Meanwhile, who will replace star quarterback Matt Barkley? Max Wittek started the final two games of last season but was inconsistent at best. Still, it will be difficult for either Cody Kessler or freshman spring enrollee Max Browne to win the job. The other major question is who will be USC's new OC, and will Kiffin relinquish play-calling duties?

Honestly? It was stupid to put them at #1 and a lot of us said so.

Yup...the writers liked putting them #1 because it would stir up discussion. And they would have something to write about when USC got hammered.

Dee Milliner runs a 4.31 then a 4.37 at the combine. Solidifies him as #1 CB coming out of college.

Alabama offered a 9th grader during junior day. I have mixed feelings on this. Edwin Moses Jr's son. The 9th grader is already 6 feet 1 inches tall, 225 pounds, and runs a 4.48 as a 9th grader.
Coach Saban has never offered a 9th grader before, to my knowledge, but according to Edwin Moses, Jr., Saban considers him to be a #1 recruit eventually the year he is leaving HS.

JK, you are right!!! Even as an old time USC fan, I just didn't see them as the #1 team, last year!!! We all know (or should), that this will be the "Make-or-break" year for LK!!! IMO, if USC finishes at 8-5 or worse, than LK is gone!!!! :-)

JK, is he an 8th or 9th grader???.
.
This was what I read yesterday: "The two-time defending national champions hosted a junior day last weekend and Baton Rouge, La. 8th grader Dylan Moses showed up at the event. By the time it was over, the Crimson Tide were so impressed they offered Moses a scholarship, reports AL.com."!!! Didn't some FN fans complain a few years ago, that USC gave an 8th grader a scholarship??? :-)

Emmert has relaxed the rules to fit the cheating, so seedy = legal after June 2013.

what's not being said here is that he is an 18 yr. old 9th grader and 8th grade was the hardest 3 years of his life....

Yeah a bunch of guys did. Lane got railed for it, but Miles and Saban don't. Go figure.

ICE, LOL, yeah it's much different when a school from the SEC offers a 8/9th grade kid a scholarship, isn't it???? I bet there were at least 200 comments on FN, complaining about USC offering a 13 year old kid a scholarship a few years back, but damn now I don't hear any SEC fans complaining because Bama didd it!!! Like you said "go figure"!!!! :-)
