05:32 PM ET 02.26 | Minnesota Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck has been placed on injured reserve, according to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Clutterbuck sustained a knee injury after Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall connected on a knee-to-knee hit. Hall was given a five-minute major for kneeing, in addition to a game misconduct. After the game, the NHL Department of Player Safety determined that Hall required supplemental discipline and was suspended two games. During that span, he forfeited a total of $9,729.92 of annual average salary. Clutterbuck required the aide of a stretcher to be removed from the playing surface and is expected to miss the team???s upcoming road trip.

I don't wish injury on anybody but .... in this case, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I feel sorry for him about as much I would for Matt Cooke or Daniel Carcillo. Head hunting pee-ricks ... all three of them.

Matthew is a changed man I tell you. He has seen the error of his ways and has repented. (With just an occasional backsliding.) He's no longer like his former self.

I'm glad to hear that the Right Rev. Mario Lemieux helped him see the light. The only backsliding I'd ever want to see from him is on broken glass.

Yup. Mario is a good influence on him.

I'm more surprised with how little Hall lost from his suspension.

He's still on entry level contract. Next year he's one of the Oiler's 6 million dollar men.
