01:51 PM ET 02.27 | The St. Louis Blues are reportedly interested in executing a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers. With general manager Doug Armstrong in attendance at two games at Philadelphia???s Wells Fargo Center this week, speculation is beginning to percolate as to the team???s interest in forward Daniel Briere. According to a report by Philadelphia???s Daily News, Armstrong has gauged the interest of executing a deal with Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren for the scoring winger. It is believed that defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk might be a piece the Flyers are interested in adding. However, that might require the team to add more to the pot then just Briere.

I wish he would waive his no movement clause. He always seems to score big goals against the pens.

Buyer beware. Don't give NMC's if you're gonna blow up your team every two years.

Those days seem to be waning. He just is not playing the way he used to

I'll never be able to forget shelling out nearly six hundred bills to see him score the first goal at the CEC.

Flyer record at the CEC is inexplicable. They clearly cannot skate with the elite teams in the league and yet they have a decent record against the Pens. I think they really get the Pens off their game. If the Pens concentrated on the task at hand, they should win easily

After the playoff last year, I don't man. They just seem to have their number anymore.

I wouldn't mind at all the Blues acquiring Briere, but I sure as heck wouldn't give up Shattenkirk to get him. Why would they give up a skilled offensive defenseman that is 24 for a 35 year old winger?

The Pens lose focus, especially when they get up 2-3 goals on Philly. The Flyers play smart and don't panic. Eventually they know the Pens will turn it over or agitate Pens into takng stupid penalties. It's one thing to play aggressive and physical, it's another to play to retaliate. Lavi is a ggod coach.

No way the Flyers are getting anywhere near Shattenkirk for that lil' old fella. Briere has lost a lot of his zip and magic. He could still help a team needing some offence, but is no longer close to being a top-tier forward.

The Blues really need to be careful what they are willing to give up, they have one of the most promising young rosters in the game, no need to ship a young stud out for yesterday's heroes.

Love Backes, Perron, Pietrangelo, Oshie, Tarasenko, Schwartz, Shattenkirk etc.. etc.. etc..

This club is big, fast and plays hard every night. Only upside here.

They won't.

Not unless this deal balloons into a multi-player swap where the Blues get someone like Couturier or Simmonds tossed in.

Agreed. Davidson built this roster very meticulously and protected the young assets from knee-jerk trades. I hope they don't do something stupid now that JD is gone.

It's not just the flyers. Pens played like punks last night vs the panthers. Maybe it's Bylsma.

But somehow when the playoffs get here, he turns into a different player. Wouldn't mind the trade, tho, if they got a good yound defenseman, which they desperately need.

Davidson is no longer there so ....anything can happens. Everybody wants to put their own brand on 'their' team, whither it needs it or not.

That's certainly not worth doing. Thinking this deal don't happen.

I don't either, but more because I think Briere is intent on keeping his family out east. If he leaves, it will have to be to a city with relatively easy access to Philly, which leads me to believe that given Philly???s probable reluctance to trade him within the conference, he's staying where he is.
