Teams interested, but Briere won't go

08:18 AM ET 02.28 | Paul Holmgren may not be done just yet. According to sources, [Blues GM Doug Armstrong] has been asking for forward Danny Briere. He isn't the only one. Boston inquired about Briere last week, among others. Briere, 35, is one player who isn't going anywhere. The Flyers have not asked Briere to waive his no-trade clause, and it isn't clear whether they're interested in moving him, but he provided an answer Tuesday. Briere has a full no-movement clause -- meaning he can't even be sent to the minors without his permission -- and will not waive it to be dealt to any team in the NHL, regardless of destination. "I don't want to comment on anything at this point," Briere told the Daily News. ... "My heart belongs in Philadelphia with the Flyers."

I hope this story disappears after today.

But Zac Rinaldo can be had for a top defensman.

I once had a no-movement clause, but Metamucil took care of that problem

But Rinaldo has been playing slightly better as of late not as many stupid penalties.

Was it even a consideration in the first place?

This looks like a media dog from the get-go.

Who knows? Briere is usually average in the regular season and then ups his game in the playoffs. With his no movement clause and his desire to stay with the Flyers, it doesn't look like it will happen. Can't blame teams for asking, tho.

That's because he's usually playing Pittsburgh in the playoffs and we all know how Pittsburgh has been rolling over and playing dead for the last couple years.

So I have a dumb question?

Occassionally I listen to the Philly sports radio, Rob Ellis to be specific (cant stomach the other DB's)...is hockey always this low on people's radar in this town???

yes... I grew up in that area. The fans there are football maniacs. Hockey is just another sport there, except for a small enclave of fanatics
