Detroit King's Nick Perry cleans up good. Perry, the 6-4, 240-pound defender who is the object of affection of four major Division I programs, was representing with a black suit, black tie, black vest, white shirt combination at the King football banquet Wednesday night. After visits to Southern Cal and Michigan the past two weekends, Perry still doesn't know what prestigious university will get his signature on a letter of intent next Wednesday, the first day recruits can sign with a school. He was scheduled to leave today for a visit to Miami (Fla.), and the Hurricanes may have scored a few style points when coach Randy Shannon was the featured speaker at the banquet. Not to be outdone, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez and members of his staff were seated at a table near the podium.

Oh darn.

February 1, 2008  08:40 AM ET

Not much of a sense of stability up in Michigan these days but I think their recruiting class is top 15?

February 1, 2008  08:56 AM ET

Yaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwnn.

Another story about a recruit who hasn't made his mind up yet.

Where's the whiskey?

I am liking this BJ Daniels kid, He could compete for the starting QB job right away. I'd take a kid who wants to play at michigan over pryor, who seems more itnerested in the media.

February 1, 2008  10:32 AM ET

Go get'em Bozo, RR you make me sick how you and the rest of your trash coachs move in and rape a program a part. By telling players to leave beacuse they are not wanted here. Because you want players that belong to gangs to come here. Thanks for turning Michiagan a trash team now.

February 1, 2008  10:54 AM ET

Thank you thunder. We all understand why he left. You don't need to keep illustrating it.

biminator - BJ daniels is done. RR canceled the in-home visit and he is not visiting this weekend. Daniels and his family have scared all big programs with their "show me the money" attitude. He has stated he is back down to his two - South Florida and Memphis. Also, the high school that he is going to has a history of questionable academics so I don't even think the kid would qualify. Likely why he's looking at the two schools that he is.

February 1, 2008  11:13 AM ET

I wonder if after RR goes to UMgets settled in, wins a couple big ten championships, a couple BCS games, maybe even knocks off the Bucks and challenges for a NC game, if many more fans will be so against him and his tactics!
WVU sure wasnt complaining when he was winning there..just a thought!

February 1, 2008  11:32 AM ET

WVu fans get over it seriously your like that girlfriend that just will not take the message, your jealous ,your program is garbage that is why he left who the hell really wants to go to school in West Virginia I know Michigan is cold and all but you ever seen that movie wrong turn that is what all your women look like up there in the mountains what college kid wants that.

February 1, 2008  11:34 AM ET

Pryor is comeing to Michigan, he wants the show on him right now in Ohio State he will have to share the lime light he doesn't want that.

February 1, 2008  11:42 AM ET

xx84, you're getting the cart infront of the horse. Actually..you killed the horse and the cart is flying down a hill out of control with that statement.

Kyle - english 101.

February 1, 2008  11:48 AM ET

I don't think WVU has been better than Michigan the past 5 years so I don't totally get the RR craze but it's good for the Big 10 if he can swing it.

February 1, 2008  11:53 AM ET

kyle_28...seriously. My man. Take the screenshot of Stewart Mandel's article about WVU off your desktop. The "ex-girlfriend" bit is getting really old. It's people like you who can't seem to let it go. YOU'RE like the ex-girlfriend's best friend that is heard in the background, months down the road, still complaining about the guy that dogged your home-girl. Where in this thread did anyone start complaining about RR and WVU? The comment about RR was about how he forced out a current UM player. Geez lil' guy. Come back to the table with something a little more original and intelligent next time.

February 1, 2008  12:08 PM ET

Oh...and Kyle_28...on a side note. Wrong Turn was filmed in Vermont. I can't believe mommy and daddy let you watch such a scary movie! Morgantown has some of the most beautiful girls on the east coast. Not to dog anyone else's school, but WVU can hold it's own. Maybe when you are old enough to get your driver's license, you can drive your dumb **** over to Mo'town and see what your future of getting shot down by hot women will be like? Enjoy my little friend. Enjoy.

February 1, 2008  12:29 PM ET

Was that English?

February 1, 2008  12:30 PM ET

Of course, what would you expect from a guy with the screen name 'edub187'

February 1, 2008  12:41 PM ET

If Rodriguez loses this kid...

February 1, 2008  01:05 PM ET

Well said edub. Like I said before, RR choked on the big one when it was for all the marbles. He's an a** but he was our a**. UM fans won't take his short comings lightly.

February 1, 2008  01:14 PM ET

There's a song by Rufus & Chaka Khan titled "Hollywood". Come west Perry, you won't be disappointed.

February 1, 2008  01:46 PM ET

Being a Buckeye fan my previous statement was hypothetical at best, I think he is good for the Big 10, but I think it will take some time to accompish those things. I mean seriously, I dont wish ill will on anyone, but if UM struggles against OSU for few years it definately wont break my heart.

February 1, 2008  01:56 PM ET

xx84, your absolutely right. It will take RR a few years to recruit his type players. Once that is done, the Big 10 won't know what hit them.
