02:04 PM ET 02.28 | Veteran quarterback Charlie Batch told WXDX in Pittsburgh on Wednesday that he expects to re-sign with the Steelers this offseason, according to sportsradiointerviews.com. The 38-year-old Batch has served as Pittsburgh's backup since 2002. He threw 70 passes this past year, his highest total since spending 2001 as a starter for Detroit. Batch to WXDX that he spoke with the team at the end of the season, and received no indication that the Steelers didn't want him back for 2013. In two 2012 starts, Batch completed 64 percent of his passes for 475 yards, a touchdown, and four interceptions. He struggled in a loss against the Bengals before leading Pittsburgh to win over the Ravens. During his 10-year tenure with the Steelers, Batch has appeared in a total of 32 games. Prior to that, he logged 48 appearances in four seasons with the Lions. He has become a fan favorite in Pittsburgh, as he has been with the two through two Super Bowl victories and never really plays enough to warrant much ire.
