Texas A&M, Kevin Sumlin agree to contract extension

01:33 PM ET 02.28 | Texas A&M and head coach Kevin Sumlin have agreed on a contract extension. The extension will bump his pay from $2 million to $3.1 million a year, and goes through the 2017 season. Sumlin just concluded a wildly successful first season in College Station, going 11-2 in the Aggies's first year in the SEC, and also grooming Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. His new deal also includes bonuses for winning the national championship ($400k), winning the SEC ($150k), and meeting academic standards ($100k). The assistant coaches will also be getting raises, as their pay pool will increase from $2.7 million to $3.4 million.
