Granger happy to pass the torch

05:40 PM ET 02.28 | Danny Granger's name briefly popped up in trade talks before the trade deadline, and the reasons for that bother him. Rumors cropped up because people assumed Granger would be a cast-off following the rise of Paul George, who is eight years Granger's minor. While it's arguable that the Indiana Pacers would consider trading the forward for a high price to shed salary, Granger, who is close to George, sees any such move as being a unnecessary. He realizes that he's aging, and Granger doesn't believe that he'll do anything but fit alongside the younger players such as George. "So I'm about to have a mid-life crisis," Granger said to Fox Sports. "So I'm 30, you know, I have no problem ??? I've been in the league eight years ??? I have no problem passing the mantle to him, to leave the team to Roy [Hibbert] and George."
