08:23 AM ET 03.01 | Daniel Alfredsson threw some cold water on speculation that he might wind up in Boston, but the Bruins seem intent on adding a star. "[Boston] is a good team, but as far as me coming here I can't see it," said Alfredsson, who has four goals and 11 assists in 19 games this season. ... "[We're] trying to fight with Boston and Montreal in our division in order to get on top. That's where my focus is." Alfredsson was one of the names on the short list of potential trade candidates that the Bruins are eying along with Daniel Briere, Jarome Iginla, Brendan Morrow, Stephen Weiss and Vinny Prospal. It's clear the Bruins would love to have that kind of big-ticket acquisition at the trade deadline.

Ottawa certainly kept up with them last night. And with Toronto on the weekend. And with the Habs on Monday.

Can they just hurry the hell up and fall off the radar already? I'm starting to worry.

Vinny Prospal is "Big ticket"? Or Stephen Weiss and his 4 points? Or Brenden Morrow and his completely lacking production at only 34 on a pretty decent offensive team? Come on.

Rask has been the story so far for the Bruins.

Ding ding..... he's been outstanding.

Although I can't help but think how good they'd be if they added another offensive weapon.

Relative to a specific teams cap space, and the Bruins have that space.

Somewhere there's a Monster headline that'll finish you off.

they beat the Habs, yes. It ends there. They didn't keep up. Bishop stood on his head. I'm still unhappy about that one.

He's been excellent so far, no doubt.

I thought the Ottawa goalie was the difference last night. Rask was darn good and made some great saves, but that Lehner kid was standing on his head all night. 44 outta 46 is wicked good.

That name does look familiar.....

Got my fingers crossed that a big, fast scoring winger will become available just before trading deadline and the B's will swoop in and scoop him up for a fair price. Can't hope to steal one now that Burkie is unemployed.

Alexei Ponikarovsky's the biggest one I could think of.
