Tom Sestito claimed by Canucks

04:07 PM ET 03.01 | The Vancouver Canucks have claimed forward Tom Sestito off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday afternoon. Philadelphia had placed Sestito on waivers with goaltender Michael Leighton on Thursday. This decision comes one day after the Canucks lost forward Aaron Volpatti to a waiver claim by the Washington Capitals. While Volpatti was a physically-minded bottom-six player with defensive upside, Sestito has yet to establish a role for himself in the NHL. Only playing sparingly with the Flyers, Sestito???s main contribution came through fighting. However, the large forward has displayed a propensity for scoring at the junior level and recorded a two-goal game earlier this year.
