Mike Green won't travel to Winnipeg

04:14 PM ET 03.01 | Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green will not be traveling with the team to Winnipeg because his groin injury has flared up. Green was forced to miss three games due to the injury earlier this month and will be unavailable when the team plays the Jets on Saturday afternoon. Having played in consecutive games this week against the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers, Green felt discomfort and the organization has erred on the side of caution so that he can return to full health. Head coach Adam Oates said this development is concerning considering Green???s history. He missed 41 games last season due to a groin injury and required sports hernia surgery.
