Jason Smith out for the remainder of season with torn labrum

05:37 PM ET 03.01 | The Hornets lost reserve big man Jason Smith for the reminder of the season Friday after the seven-footer suffered a torn right labrum. This news is especially troublesome since Anthony Davis is battling a shoulder injury of his own that will force him to miss his second consecutive game Friday. Smith will finish his third year in New Orleans averaging 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 17.2 minutes per game. He's expected to go under the knife sometime next week.

Guess it depends on your definition of "playing". What he did in orlando was "playing", what he's doing in LA can't be considered more than "participating".
