11:04 AM ET 03.02 | t's good to be Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin. While his new extension earned him a lot of money and set him up for hefty bonuses, his contract also revealed some perks of being the head man at College Station. Here are some of the non-football perks he'll receive, according to his contract: At all times Sumlin will have the use of two vehicles through the car program of the Texas A&M Athletic Department. He is provided a club membership to one country club in Brazos County, Texas. Sumlin's spouse, Charlene, has travel paid for to all away football and bowl games and any special events "at the invitation of the (Athletic) Director." Sumlin will receive 12 complimentary season football tickets and a parking pass at Kyle Field. He'll also get 4 complimentary men's season basketball tickets and a parking pass. The use of the head football coach's box at Kyle Field. If there is no head coach's box, he'll get a comparable replacement.

SMU made a commitment to keeping the best DFW talent at home ... and they found themselves having to out-bid OU, A&M and Arkansas for some of the studs. They were just simplistic and blatant about it. Then they branched into other parts of TX and outbid for Dickerson, James and others ... and the rest is history.
The year that A&M and Auburn were on probation ... they could have played for the NC they were that good!!! I hope it was worth it.
