Yankees: Ichiro OK after car crash

09:23 AM ET 03.03 | Ichiro Suzuki avoided injury last night when his car collided with another vehicle. "He is fine," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. "His interpreter called to let us know." Ichiro was headed south in his Land Rover on a Tampa highway around 4 p.m. when he hit Linda Trange Le, who failed to yield the right of way when making a left hand turn in front of Ichiro, according to Tampa police. "He struck her," Tampa Lt. Ronald McMullen told The Post. "She ended up hitting a third car, but there were no injuries." Trange Le was cited for the accident. Ichiro's translator was at the scene when police arrived. "The officer didn't even know he played baseball," McMullen said jokingly. "He said, 'I know the Rays but the Yankees'" It is not known if Ichiro, who signed a two-year contract during the offseason, will have to miss any spring training games.
