09:55 AM ET 03.03 | Purdue Boilermakers' running back was not receiving much attention early in the draft process, but after his standout numbers at the team's Pro Day, he is beginning to generate some buzz. Just how impressive was Shavers' Pro Day performance? Take a look at the numbers. 40-yard dash: 4.35 seconds Bench press: 19 reps Vertical jump: 39.5-inches Broad jump: 10-foot-10 If the 5-foot-10, 199-pound Shavers would have been able to perform at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine, his numbers would have been among the top at his position. The performance at Purdue's Pro Day will now cause NFL scouts to go back to the film and see what they may have missed with the running back. There were 18 NFL teams present at the Purdue Pro Day.

Yes, he shaved two tenths off his 40 time and scouts took notice. He sounds like somebody the Pats would have on their radar for a steal at a lower pick.

I remember standing up and yelling a lot during that fight because it really looked like Ernie might dethrone him for a while there. It says a lot that many fighters who faced both Shavers and Foreman said Shavers was by far the hardest puncher. Oh wait... was this a football thread?

The combine is a double edged sword. If you're slow.. you're slow. If you're fast? You're fast in a controlled environment. That doesn't translate to game speed, especially if you run from contact.
