10:03 AM ET 03.03 | New Orleans' Warren Easton linebacker Ed Williams' long recruiting journey ended Saturday when he signed with Tulane in favor of offers from Texas Tech, Miami and others. Williams, a Rivals.com three-star recruit, had wanted to sign with Texas Tech on National Signing Day, but as a minor he needed a parent to sign his Letter of Intent and his mother would not sign off. Just last week Williams said he didn't want to go to Tulane and planned to sign a financial aid agreement with the Red Raiders once he turned 18. "Right now things have been shaky, because my mother does not want me to go to Texas Tech," Williams told PelicanPreps.com. "She has her reasons, but I still prefer to be in Lubbock. She really wants me to go to Tulane, but I do not like it there. So it has to be where I am happy." Williams had signed with Tulane by Saturday morning, according to TheWaveReport.com.

Priorities are shifting. "What does mom think?" may usurp "Where do I cash this check?" as the dominant recruiting question.

Did conference alignment have anything to do with mom's decision?

Mom, me thinks son would have a much more difficult time getting into things you wouldn't like in Lubbock as compared to NOLA. Fact, Lubbock is about as dull as NOLA is exciting.

LOL. Saw an interview with a lady that is one of the best principals in the nation. Said she was quitting unless she could find a job as principal at an orphanage school.
