Jets in no rush to trade Darrelle Revis

06:39 PM ET 03.03 | The New York Jets are in no rush to make a move in regards to their elite cornerback Darrelle Revis. New York, which has publicly said it wants to keep Revis but also has done nothing to stop any rumors that he is available for the right price - a kings ransom - has no timetable on figuring out where to go from here. New general manager John Idzik is in a tough spot. Revis wants a new contract, feeling he is woefully underpaid. Considering his track record, Revis is correct. The corner is scheduled to make $6 million this season, a far cry from the $15 or so he's probably worth. However, Revis is coming off a torn ACL, making this situation impossible to figure out. How can any team be totally comfortable handing out a six-year/$90 million type deal?

Well first there's an article about whether the Jets might want to think about trading him, then an article about how anonymous sources on the team feel about it, then an article on how Revis is going to feel, then one on how he ended up feeling after all, then one about what some idiot talking head on NFL Net said, then... Basically there's an article about everything except how the media manipulates non-stories, and we can just learn by example on that one.

How many more days til the start of the next season? From there it gets better: will or won't the J-E-T-S re-sign him... Does (insert NFL team) have interest? The interns will cut and paste every worthless story and speculative tidbit from all the NFL "experts".
If anyone thought the Favre and Tebow threads were bad, we ain't seen nothing yet.

When he's healthy he's the best cornerback on the planet, I'd say that qualifies as playing like star. And he wants more money every other year, so I'd say that represents acting like a star. The knee injury wouldn't worry me a great deal considering he's never relied exclusively on speed and guys come back from this surgery as great as ever on a regular basis now. There's no chance I'd give him more than 4 years on a new deal but he's absolutely worth 50 million over those 4 years.

I mean, I know he had surgery, but I think he's worth more than $15...
