Colts expected to target Cary Williams

06:54 PM ET 03.03 | The Indianapolis Colts are a likely candidate to bid on free agent cornerback Cary Williams. Williams has ties to the team considering Chuck Pagano, the ex-Ravens defensive coordinator, now runs the ship over there. The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Joe Flacco to a record-setting six-year/$120 million contract earlier this week, giving the team a chance to look at some of its other priorities. They have a lot of impending free agents and may not be able to keep them all. Indianapolis needs a lot of help in the defensive backfield, making Williams an ideal fit for a team with ample cap space. Williams is a solid corner but certainly not a player who will have Ravens fans calling out of work and heading to the liquor store should he move on. In 2012, Williams amassed 75 tackles and four interceptions in 16 games, the only four thefts of his career.

I would anticipate some push back by the Ravens.

Four pics in a season is nothing to look down on. They might not be so quick to let him go.

He loses guys in coverage, but then will make up for it with a big play. He's good, but not great. The Ravens will try to keep him, but not too hard. He's a bit down their priority list.

He is ok they will just let him walk. Too many other corners on the roster when they are all healthy.
