07:16 PM ET 03.03 | The Atlanta Falcons are expected to pursue veteran RB Steven Jackson. The 29-year-old will reportedly void his contract with the St. Louis Rams and test the free agent market. Atlanta is looking to upgrade their running game after releasing Michael Turner, freeing up $6 million in cap space. Jackson rushed for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns in 2012. He is still productive despite all the mileage on his tires and wants to play for a Super Bowl contender. He would be a natural fit in Atlanta's offense, pairing up with Jacquizz Rodgers to keep him fresh.

Jackson would make a great 1-2 punch with Gore and the Niners.

I don't know... normally teams go for the thunder & lighting combo. Steven Jackson and Frank Gore would be more like thunder & thunder.

A change of scenery is what Jackson could use. And Atlanta is a good change of scenery.

After watching him play at OSU I always thought he deserved better than the Rams. I'll never understand why he didn't clean out his locker there as soon as he could have and move on to some team with an owner that wanted to win games.

Wouldn't work out. You can't have an OSU back and an UO back on the same team. Too much locker room tension.

He catches the ball out of the backfield and nullifies the pass rush!!!

The reason he didn't is because he is one of the classiest men in the NFL. I breaks my heart that Jackson could leave but I will root for him wherever he goes. He has earned it. I might be wrong but I think most Rams fans would say the same.
