08:05 AM ET 03.04 | Close to a worst-case injury scenario is unfolding in Philadelphia. General Manager Tony DiLeo confirmed prior to the start of the Sixers' game against the Wizards that Andrew Bynum is contemplating arthroscopic surgery. ... DiLeo does not know what direction the franchise will go this summer when the 25-year-old all-star center becomes a free agent. DiLeo is, however, aware that Bynum said on Friday that, if he is healthy, he is certain he will get a new contract from someone. "That's something we have to rely on the medical staff for," DiLeo said, referencing future contract negotiations. "He's a free agent, so it's not just our decision. I think he likes it here. I think he's happy here."

He is staying in Philly. He needs to go head and have that surgery and Philly needs to get the best doctors to evaluate him and if they think he will be able to resume his career we will re-up his contract for 4-50+Mill. The NBA needs a salary cap similar to the NFL's. It would be good to "sign" him to a multi year deal but have only like 30 Mill guarenteed. The NFL have their salary cap leveled to where only a portion of the salary is given

Of course he's happy... pulling down big checks for watching professional basketball players play basketball. I'd be happy too!

Coming Back To LA, Bro?

This was a worse case for Philly, that trade was awful.

Better question: Will Bynum ever play again? That's the question to ask.

who's actually lined up? there were 'reports', likely started by his agent-

Oden is being looked at by 4 or 5 teams. And the stuff I've seen/heard has come from those teams.....not his agent.

Even though [b]you[/] may not like this guy as a player......but there are plenty of GMs that do.

Bynum is looking like the new Oden or something.

Philly is a horrible team with an awful future- with or without Bynum. I know the team well- live in the Philly area. Went to the game Saturday night and still cannot figure out how Golden State managed to lose to them.
