08:10 AM ET 03.04 | While a Sunday report suggested Kyle Lohse could be coming in, a departure might make bigger headlines in the Rangers' world. [There's] been a shift of power in Arlington. ... And the loser in all this? Nolan Ryan. ... The Rangers owners are now on the edge of a local PR disaster with a large segment of the fandom. Except Bob Simpson denied on Sunday that all of the above is the way the situation has unfolded, particularly concerning the possible exit of Ryan from the team, an exit that sources say is coming, if it happens, sooner rather than later. Like possibly by the end of spring training. So far, however, Ryan has not confirmed he is planning on leaving the ballclub. He was not returning phone calls Sunday.

Sounds like Nolan's ego is getting in the way.

In the article yesterday on T&R I ask the question what about Ryan since there was no mention of his name in the article. It looks like the Rangers are blaming Ryan for not winning the World Series two years in a roll and losing free agents to other teams.

He does have that lightning rod aura about him.

March 4, 2013  09:19 AM ET

They could demote him to 5th starter.

Or somebody else's ego ...

You know Nolan Ryan is going to speak his mind. I think I'd keep him and resolve the conflict some other way. Let them trade shots and see who is left standing.

I thought the same when I read that thread. My exact thoughts were: "I thought Ryan was the guy calling the shots in Texas."

He's a figure head. He's owns a very small percentage of the team.

.....my sources tell me ryan health issues have had his family try to get him to consider semi- retirement.....plus daniel and his kids are gone unless they ae givin more power and control....no blame games here....

March 4, 2013  10:19 AM ET

The more I read Randy Galloway, the more I think he's a putz ... name your sources jackass or keep your mouth shut ...

Very possible. I was trying to read between the lines since Ryan appears to be the odd man out.

March 4, 2013  11:01 AM ET

It sounds like there may be a transfer of power over to Jon Daniels.
