08:26 AM ET 03.04 | Leafs defenseman Mike Komisarek addressed a weekend report out of St. Louis that suggested he would welcome a trade. [A St. Louis-based reporter] tweeted on Saturday, "Mike Komisarek gave Leafs a list of 12 teams he'd accept a trade to but I'm told he'd pretty much accept a trade anywhere. Wants to play." Komisarek, who has been a healthy scratch for the past 14 games, discussed the report with the media on Sunday. "I'm not going to be commenting on what someone in St. Louis said so I don't even know the guy or why he said that," said Komisarek. ... Komisarek did suggest that he was amused by the flurry of interest in him. "It must be a slow news day," he said.

Why do they have to make this a thing? Why? Feaster is probably the only one crazy enough to want Komisarek, and I think he's probably on a leash now after the O'Reilly fiasco.

I wonder if one of those teams was the Islanders? If so, Snow should jump all over that. They need some defensive depth back there.

Your boys screwed me out of a couple Bordens yesterday by taking out Ottawa.

But really, you'd like Komisarek on LI?

Isn't he a L.I. boy anyway?

Yeah his family grew up in Islip and I think his dad was in Brooklyn.

Isles are in need of some defensive depth and a veteran defensemen would be nice to help some of these younger guys on the blueline.

Nobody else seems to finds Komisarek amusing in the least. Might as well enjoy his day in the spotlight before things go back to 'normal' and everybody forgets he exists.

Sorry DL - Tavares was too busy doing his best Forsberg impression.....

Yes, the Islanders need defensive depth but, Komisarek isn't it. He's defensively shallow, as his stats show.

Overpaid defensemen that burns up cap space sounds right up their alley!!!

He's from my hometown, and shared background, so I always give him a pass.

Plus, this is incredible:

Komisarek might be like a Beauchemin who is just more comfortable in less-pressure situations.

Or places he can dive, like Montreal.

(tweeeeeeeak)

Wait a week. This is a tough one - Devs, Sens, Pens and B's.

I have to feel that a few teams currently in the top 8 are due for a substantial drop. Right now Sens and Devils aren't playing very good hockey.

March 4, 2013  10:19 AM ET

...but Pens & B's are for real. 4 points this week is decent, anything above is great.

No Marty/Anderson is hurting the Devs/Sens.

If the Leafs can take advantage of the two and maybe steal 2 points in the other two games, bodes well for them. Vital points to ward off the eventual push the Flyers/Rangers make.

Bishop has been pretty good. Stole 2 points from the Habs last week. Overal,l missing the 2 top players and the starting goalie os problematic. I can't see them sustaining their position....BUT, everyone's been saying that since Spezza went down. MacLean is showing that he can coach.
