08:29 AM ET 03.04 | Might Pittsburgh be seeking a little veteran help for Sidney Crosby? While the Penguins' captain is doing a good job setting a torrid scoring pace this season, Pittsburgh general manager Ray Shero is expected to go shopping for another winger and possibly a defenceman. ... It's believed the Penguins -- among other teams -- have [targeted] Calgary Flames winger Jarome Iginla, who will be a unrestricted free agent July 5, as a possibility to play on a line with Crosby. Flames GM Jay Feaster hasn't decided what route he's going to take with Iginla yet. If Calgary does put him on the market then the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks are all expected to make a pitch.

All depends on the cost. Don't blow your wad for an aging vet, skills in decline, about to become a UFA.

Absolutely right.

I agree...Pitt moreso, but Shero is too smart to lose picks/cash on a guy his age

Pitt is 1st in the league in GFA and 3rd on PP% scoring really isn't their issue

However, goal tending is. They should try to pry Lulonga out of Vancouver instead.

Won't argue that although Vokoun has been pretty good I would be looking more at D a goalie can only be as good as the D in front of him.

Can never score enough goals.

And I would love to see Looloo playing for my cross state rivals

Against the Flyers no they can never score enough goals especially in the CONSOL Energy Center

It's not so much the goaltending as it is the play in front of the goalie.

Sadly true.

March 4, 2013  09:41 AM ET

Pens need a defensmen more then a scorer. Do they remember the series last year against the Flyers, where every game was a football score?

March 4, 2013  09:43 AM ET

so from here till trade-deadline we'll be getting a daily Iggy-to-here theread?

March 4, 2013  09:45 AM ET

I think my boy Weiss would make more sense, especially since he'll be a deadline casuality.

They're fine at centre, though. They could use some assistance for the top 2.

I agree. Vokun has looked pretty good in the 2 game I saw him in (beat the NYR twice)
