Ibaka wasn't trying to 'hurt' Griffin

03:45 PM ET 03.04 | Serge Ibaka put a hack below the belt on Blake Griffin during the Oklahoma City Thunder's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday that was hard enough to drop Griffin to the ground in pain. With two minutes left and the Thunder hanging onto a six-point lead, the play that only drew a flagrant-1 foul brought more tension to an already physical game. It was part of a seven-point burst by the Clippers during the one play that gave Los Angeles a 100-99 lead -- Griffin hit one free throw, and the Clippers also scored on one three-pointer before the foul and another off an offensive rebound. Afterward, Ibaka told USA Today that he did not mean to hurt Griffin. "He hit my hands away," Ibaka told reporters. "He's strong, so when he grabs you, your jersey or whatever, and you try to defend yourself and rebound. So maybe you can do some move, not to hurt, (but) just to get good position. But then something happens where you get hurt in the paint. It's not anything where I want to try to hurt him. I'm not that kind of person. I just try to play hard, and that's it."
