Ginobili hopes to keep playing for at least '2 more years'

03:48 PM ET 03.04 | Manu Ginobili isn't what he once was. The reckless abandon that he's played with throughout his 10-plus NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs has worn on his body. Taking all those charges, after all, has resulted in dings. Ginobili is trucking along toward this summer, when his contract runs out and he'll be faced with a decision about his future. But right now, he has a chance to test himself. Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss the next month or so with a sprained ankle, and it'll be up to Ginobili to take on some of the load. Still, the Argentinian knows there are no guarantees, but he's hoping that he'll be able to think about basketball past this year. "But ask me right now," he told the San Antonio Express-News on Sunday, "and I'd like to play two more years for sure."

Manu still has game left in him. Another ring will make him come for another year.

I hope he plays at least two more years, too. As a life long Spurs fan I realize Tim Duncan and David Robinson were the greatest hometown players I ever saw (I'm far too young to have ever seen George Gervin ball), and that Tony Parker is the best thing we've got going, currently. But I will miss Manu more than any other player when he decides to retire.
I LOVE watching Ginobili. Basketball as art.

This is good news. Initially, this year was thought to be his last, based on what he had said in the past. Then he indicated one more year, and now two. Somehow, got to keep him healthy, though.
