04:25 PM ET 03.04 | New Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen hired Jay Boulware in January to be his tight ends coach, but Boulware accepted a job at Oklahoma after just about two months with the Badgers. Andersen was not particularly pleased about the situation, and he told media members that he hired "the wrong guy." This sort of thing isn't unique to Wisconsin, though--Billy Napier was hired by Florida State in mid-January and left for a position at Alabama about six weeks later.

Florida State has no room to argue on this one. They took one of our coaches and the word is he was recruiting one of our recruits to FSU before he actually accepted the job.
All's fair in college football. But when it comes around, please don't cry.

Some of these moves are promotions (either co-ordinator or assistant head coach), but in this case, it's a lateral move so I can understand the head coaches' frustration.

Call me a homer...but a job at Wisconsin compared to OU? Or FSU compared to Bama?
Don't really blame them. Certain places open up and you would be a fool not to jump...Texas, U$C, tOSU, Florida, LUS to name a few...

Okay, Homer. I can see that argument if going from say the Sunbelt to the SEC. But once you're in a major conference, it ought to be a promotion to jump ship at this point. Someone needs to honor a contract in CFB. That, would be news!

Um... FSU wasn't arguing/crying about anything.
This article says the new Wisconsin coach is upset that one of his new hires bounced for Oklahoma.

Image in today's society is all that counts. The so called top schools that you guys listed (OU, USC, Texas, FSU,) have been the most over-rated schools in pre-season polls. The data is in the most recent Mailbag column from Stewart Mandell. It goes back to 1989, and shows how schools pre and post season poll rankings compare. Of the so called top teams today, only Alabama out performs its' pre season rankings. The image of these "elite" schools greatly exceeds their typical performance, and therefore, they are nearly always ranked high in the pre season polls.
