08:13 AM ET 03.05 | Robinson Cano may not want to talk much about any contract negotiations with the Yankees or his potential free agency after this season, but his dad might. [Jose], who will be on the coaching staff of his son's Dominican Republic squad for the upcoming World Baseball Classic, made it clear he hopes the All-Star second baseman remains in pinstripes for the remainder of his career. "We're still waiting to see what's going on with the Yankees. But the Yankees, I don't think are going to let him go," the elder Cano said Monday during the DR's workout at George Steinbrenner Field. "I wish he can be here forever. I don't think he'll feel comfortable going to another city ... I hope he can be a Yankee forever."

Could be all B.S. but this guy also broke the Melky story a month before he was suspended.

Yea, and Johnny Damon said he'd never play for the Yankees.

Good luck with all that!

Very interesting. Although the Arod suspension probably helps rather than hurts the Yankees.

NY and BOS are defnitely in transition. But, at least NY is still making the playoffs during their adjustment.

All in the rear view mirror. Every season is a new season. New York's transition has been a bit late. And it won't be without some bumps in the road.

Boston's pretty much near the "clean slate" status right now. That's a good place to be. After the last two years and after having dumped an extraordinary amount of payroll on the naive Dodgers, they're now pretty well positioned to start optimizing in the new compensation paradigm. No place to go but up.
