08:18 AM ET 03.05 | From soccer, to track, to basketball and, of course, football, Oregon State has been rebranded. The Beavers threw mini party Monday night that was part re-launch of the brand, part fashion show as 17 student-athletes debuted the new gear in front of more than 600 fans who packed into the Alumni Center on campus. ... Included in the "brand identity launch" is a new Beaver logo, a new custom typeface and numeral set and a new color scheme (along with the primary colors of orange, black and white, Oregon State has now added metallic bronze as a secondary, or accent, color). ... "This stuff absolutely matters to kids, and I think it looks really sharp," [Mike Riley] said. "It's cool that the kids are so excited about it."

DS, even you have to admit that the latest B1G logo is an absolute fail. It looks like Delaney's grandkid drew it with a crayon.

Personally, I don't get too worked up about that stuff. I'm an engineer, not a marketing major. If they want to change the logo every year, it won't matter to me.

QUOTE(#16):

I want to like the B1G. I really do. But it is a steaming mess and it is ruining college athletics.

I assume you are laying the blame for conference realignment at our footsteps. Nobody is forced to join a conference. Penn State could have remained independent, or if the b'ball schools hadn't been afraid of football, PSU could have been the centerpiece of a football centric Big East. The B1G had nothing to do with that. Same thing with Nebraska. If Texas wasn't so greedy about tv revenues, Nebraska would still be in the Big 12. Does the B1G look for new schools? Of course. It's not our fault if we're a better deal than the alternatives.
