04:15 PM ET 03.05 | Wes Welker and the New England Patriots are nearing an agreement on a multi-year contract that they hope to finish before the start of free agency on March 12, according to Mike Giardi of Comcast SportsNet New England. Welker has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last five seasons as a Patriot and the two sides are aware of how good a fit they are for one another. Last offseason the Patriots used the franchise tag on Welker, but this year the Patriots opted not to use the tag and appear close to reaching a long-term deal that could keep Welker in New England for the rest of his career. Despite not beginning the season as a starter in 2012, Welker still ended up with 118 receptions for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns, earning yet another Pro Bowl selection.

Maybe when Welker gets this year what he wanted last year he'll be able to relax and play well without worrying about his wife nagging him about getting paid Brady money. Oh wait a minute, since Brady restructured his contract, Welker probably is getting 'Brady money'.

You think Welker is going to get $60Mil guaranteed? Whatever it is your taking send me a crate!!

Welker needs the Pats more than the Pats need him. He's a system WR that might not catch 60 balls with any other team.

By 'Brady money' I meant the money that was freed up when Brady restructured his contract. That allowed NE to have plenty of under the cap money to spread around to other players. I thought that point was clear... not that Welker was going to get as much as Brady. As for the crate of drugs...just say no.

Besides Mr Steeler, you have more access to better drugs over in Thailand than I do over here in my neck of the woods. lol

The major problem facing the home gardener/farmer is over watering the plants. When in doubt, wait a day. Too much water is worse than not enough....root rot. How would you like to stand in water all day?

Because of injuries on offense, Without Welker, The Pats would have struggled to get to the Playoffs the past 2 Years!
