Howard downplays conflicts with Kobe

05:13 PM ET 03.05 | In an interview with a local LA TV station on Monday, Dwight Howard denied any rift between him and Kobe Bryant and said the two were only concerned about winning. However, he did admit that "they had different ways of showing it." And while there have been reports that a locker room dispute between the two stars earlier in the season had escalated into a physical confrontation, Howard dismissed them as lies and speculation. He was also asked about a recent Adidas commercial where he said he was "all-in" for L.A., but said that was only in reference to this season and pointedly refused to make any commitments about his impending free agency, calling it "his choice." The Lakers have found their stride in recent weeks, getting back to .500 for the first time since the beginning of the season, but it appears the off-the-court melodrama surrounding their new franchise center won't dissipate until he signs a long-term contract in the off-season.
