01:28 PM ET 03.05 | Bobby Petrino's career has completely changed over the past 12 months, falling from a BCS title contender at Arkansas all the way to Western Kentucky due to scandal. However, SB Nation's Steven Godfrey got an inside look at Petrino and his staff at WKU, and the thing that made Petrino successful in the first place, his incredible knowledge of football tactics and schemes, are still there. He may not be the most lovable personality off the field, but he still has the tools to be a good coach on the field.

Petrino reminds me of Mike Price!!! Price was a very good coach at Washington State!!! WSU is a hard place to coach, but Price had some good seasons there, until that night with the stripper!!!

Don't forget about Bobby Petrino
Sorry, I already have. Dude doesn't deserve to be a head coach, at any level. Doesn't matter how good he is.

IMHO, he will be back at a BCS Auto-Qualifier conf team within 3 yrs. Dude can win, and there are A LOT of places than winning>ethical.
Not saying it's right, just saying what I think will happen. Many Arky fans are happy we hired him, saying the 30 wins in three seasons was worth the 5-7 debacle that was Arky football last year.

That doesn't quite hit the mark. Petrino doesn't have "the tools;" he is a tool.

Ask Atlanta Falcon Fans for their opinion regarding this monumental dirtbag. Chris Mortensen may still love him but few other residents in this neck of the woods would cry if he fell into a wood chipper...

It tells the alumni that the WKU administration will stoop to any depths to win at football. Unfortunately, that is probably just what the alumni want to hear.

I doubt if he loses any sleep over what a bunch of rednecks in Georgia think of him. He wasn't the one that lied and went to prison for fighting dogs. That was your franchise QB. Get over it.
On a different note, he certainly isn't a lovable guy but he is one heck of a coach. I think he is easily one of the top 10 in the country. I should be as bitter as anyone but I only wish him the best in the future.

Better to hire a man who tried to keep the woman out of trouble than what Oregon has done, promoted to Offensive Coordinator a coward who hid in a closet while the woman he'd just been in bed with is getting assaulted by her jealous (and psycho/criminal) ex. He doesn't deserve to be a Duck because in truth he's chicken-you-know-what.
