04:10 PM ET 03.05 | After spending 2012 out of the NFL, quarterback Vince Young will work out at the Texas Pro Day according to Mack Brown via Stewart Mandel. With JaMarcus Russell scheduled to hold a pro day in April and Pat White working out at West Virginia, Young is just the latest to join the trend of former pros attempting to use a pro day to spark interest among NFL teams. Young will already be on campus as he is finishing his degree this semester; the Texas Pro Day will take place on March 26. Young last played with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, where he struggled while starting three games as Michael Vick's backup. Young posted a 60.8 rating with only four touchdowns to nine interceptions. The former Texas star and No. 3 pick of the 2006 NFL Draft was at one time a rising star before falling out of favor. Young was named the 2006 Offensive Rookie of the Year and earned a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie. He earned another Pro Bowl selection in 2009 after some up-and-down years with the Titans in which he was in and out of the starting position, but that was his last significant success in the NFL.

Funny stuff! You would think all 32 NFL teams already know what he is capable of (or not) by now. Is one workout really going to change some GM minds?

Hope the CFL & Arena league send scouts to these work outs. Wouldn't expect the NFL to be very interested.

My bet is on the CFL.

That vision of him crying on the sideline is scorched in their memory banks.

and if he screws that up, just who does he blame for this, Fisher is not with the Rams so that won't work. Maybe he and Jamarcus could shop their wares in the CFL and play several years until they get good?

What a waste. Here's what I will never understand, with the money that he and Jamarcus were paid, they could have bought car washes, self storage garages and a host of sure bet businesses as a just in case and yet I hear both squandered all that money on cars and booze. Apparently they both refused to listen to their bad news. Ya it was just the white media saying they weren't that good.

You may be right, but it couldn't hurt him to try.

This guy could've been great. But he turned out being a mental midget...

He's going to have competition from Jamarcus Russell.

VY should try getting a sponsorship from Cheesecake Factory. From what I've read, he spent a lot of his cash there.

That vision of Vince Young taking his team 99 yards aganst the Cardinals, for a come from behind victory with no time left on the clock, is scorched in the memory banks of a lot of GM's and coaches in the NFL....
