05:25 PM ET 03.05 | The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenseman Korbinian Holzer to a two-year contract extension, according to an announcement by the team on Tuesday afternoon. The club was unwilling to release the financial terms of the agreement because of team policy. The new deal will expire at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season. The 25-year-old defenseman has recorded two goals in 16 games with the Maple Leafs this season and has logged 19 minutes of penalties. Holzer was originally selected with the No. 111 pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Maple Leafs.

That's sort of what I was alluding to Shipper. Celine has 4 goals in 23 games and is a sterling -6.

He makes 6.5 mil a year.

They signed him for 725K next season and 850K in its final year so 1.5M total is not bad at all IMO

He has been steady most nights. It was a smart move, they have some depth on the blueline for the first time in forever. Gotta move Liles and eat Komisarek's contract.

Phaneuf/Franson/Fraser/Holzer/Gardiner (will be there soon)/Kostka have all played well. Major reason why this team has improved so much. And they still have Reilly and Percy a couple of years away.
