Rock bottom for the Devils?

08:20 AM ET 03.06 | While Martin Brodeur sits, the margin for error has grown increasingly thin for the Devils, who woke up Wednesday leading their division only by a point. Coach Pete DeBoer said he believes the Devils have hit rock bottom with six straight losses (one in a shootout) and a 1-7-1 record in their last nine games. "We have to build off the last four minutes," DeBoer said of the late comeback against the Lightning. ... "You hope you get to the bottom here so you can start climbing up. I'm hoping this is rock bottom and we can start getting off the mat and getting up and on to bigger and better things. No one likes losing. I think we're at the bottom and we're going to get off the mat Thursday."

Having a better backup than Hedberg is probably a good idea.

Oldest tandem in the entire league....yup its safe to say that 'ol Lou was crossing his fingers that neither would get injured...wishful thinking, genius....whats next for Lou ?? Sign Jason Arnott only for him to get injured in his 1st practice ??

The DeBoer effect was one year late, but it has arrived with a BANG!

Rock bottom for the Devils

Finally, The Rock has come back to New Jersey!!

I had semi high hopes for the Devils given their start, but Nard told me this could happen.

Maybe not this way exactly but in the end he was right.

He was actually really good for the Devils the last two years. 912 and 918 save %. 2.23 and 2.38 and thats with the Devils having an average D.

I think the bigger problem is they can't score and the loss of Larry Robinson is effecting the D

The DeBoer effect, is that the effect affecting the Panthers right now?

maybe Big Bird should suit up.

Six straight losses and still leading the division. So they had their losing streak like most teams but still lead the division. All teams have some kind of losing streak, I bet the Hawks suffer before the season is over.

No, they're hungover from their run at the first round last year.

Big win last night!

Moose is in a funk, it happens, look at Bobby Lou. Nice to see that kinkade can play well, and should get the nod next game for his first NHL start.Yes this has to be rock bottom with Mosse putting it in on himself. Lets face it, without Marty playing well, we arent going anywhere. Also it would be nice if Kovy and the 100 mill we paid for him could step it up when Marty is out.

the moose IS a funk.

not that I want to be taken as a fan, but putting Lou in the same league as the moose is ridiculous.
