11:20 AM ET 03.06 | In a report that surprises absolutely no one, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported this morning that the Miami Dolphins are the team to beat for Pittsburgh Steelers free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace. With Miami in desperate need of speed on offense, the Dolphins have been connected to Wallace for a while. "A lot of people around the league believe that the Miami Dolphins are poised to make a major run at a player who many regard as the No. 1 free agent available," Schefter said on SportsCenter. He went on to add that the Dolphins are desperate to add speed around quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Wallace will be one of the first free agents off the board and he is in for a big pay day.

Let the Dolphins have him after such a lousy season last year.

good luck with him Miami. Put some performance clauses in that contract....

He may be fast, but that's it. He's sloppy on his routes and has stone hands. He showed up to camp out of shape and unfamiliar with the playbook. He didn't care about missing reps with his QB, he figured he'd just run like hell and be super awesome greatest. He's selfish and going just by the numbers, he's gotten worse in every stat, every year since '10.
He may be the kind of guy who gets a huge paycheck and wants to prove that he's worth the money. But if I were writing up his contract, I wouldn't guarantee a dime unless he hits certain requirements.

Jeff Ireland is trying to sell tickets. Wallace would make some fans think that they've got this awesome receiver to light it up. By week six they'll quit watching.

Wallace is an upgrade over who they have, that is for sure.
Now, at what price? That is the real question.
Pair Wallace with Hartline and you got something going there, assuming they keep Bush.
Miami would be really better off if they got Wallace AND Jennings. They have the dough...

Dolemite, nice one. Just watched part of "The Insider" on TV yesterday.
As for Mike Wallace, WR, the same decline that happened to Santonio Holmes will happen to him.
