12:24 PM ET 03.06 | The NHLPA could potentially block the NHL's realignment plan once more, as the union continues to stall on making a decision on whether or not to approve the league's latest plan. The NHLPA is reportedly unhappy with the leagues' proposed playoff structure in regards to the unbalanced conference alignment, with the NHL likely unwilling to consider not moving Detroit or Columbus to the East. The union blocked a league proposal on realignment last season and with the NHL needing a response as soon as possible, another block by the NHLPA could happen once more.

The NHLPA continues to be obnoxious on all issues, not just the economic ones that are important to them. There is a need for realigment, especially for Detroit and Columbus. I'm anxious for the NHLPA to demand approval of the anthem singers, painting on the ice, advertising on the boards, Zamboni drivers and really vital stuff like that.

again what makes this even worse is the NHLPA, unlike the last time when the owner's tried to do relaignment, this time the NHLPA and the league came to this agreement, again if this get's blocked who does it benefit certainly not winipeg who would have to a play a 3rd season in the east. Again Fehr is tyring his best to ruin hockey like he did baseball

Oh for the days when a few thousand under the table and a trip to the peelers at Times Square could persuade an NHLPA exec direc. Fehr wants real coin when he gets bought!
On another note...nice to see that the CBC hires SI interns after they graduate. With in depth reporting like this, CBC will no doubt rise to the pinnacle of hockey reporting again.
