12:40 PM ET 03.06 | Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson has increasingly become the subject of trade rumors, with the Pittsburgh Penguins looking to be a possible destination. Rob Rossi states that Simon Despres could be available in a trade for Johnson, who the Penguins would see as a top option to place next to Letang. Jarmo Kekalainen, GM of the Blue Jackets, downplayed any rumors that stemmed from his appearance at a Penguins game earlier this week and stated that he was merely there to see an old friend in Pens GM Ray Shero.

Scott Howson is no longer the GM, you know. What makes them think they're going to let him go now?

How would they replace a player who they depend upon for more than 26 minutes of ice time per game?

I can't see them giving up Johnson for Despres.... like Roamer said Howson isn't GM any longer so maybe they're not as dumb as before

Who knows but Pitt needs some help back there before the Flyers put up another touchdown and 2 field goals on them

The Pens don't have that much to offer other than Despres and picks. Maybe see if the Jets want Glass back? Whatever they do I hope they can include TK as the throw away player.

The problem is that the Flyers are no better in their end.

I'd love to see last season's series all over again...with all the taunting, hair pulling and cheap-shotting.

We may get a preview tonight.

Why would the Pens want a deceased former heavyweight champion on their team?
