04:06 PM ET 03.06 | The New York Rangers have claimed defenseman Roman Hamrlik off waivers on Wednesday afternoon, according to multiple reports. Hamrlik had been placed on waivers by the Washington Capitals on Tuesday afternoon. The 38-year-old defenseman had been playing sparingly with the club and only dressed in four of the Capitals??? 21 games this season, in addition to playing a total of 52 minutes this season. Head coach Adam Oates stated that Hamrlik had been understanding of the situation and was a victim of a numbers game. The claim on Hamrlik was not involved with the injury to Marc Staal on Tuesday night, as the Rangers had internal discussions about claiming Hamrlik prior to the incident.

Either someone is not letting on about an injury; or Sather has a package deal coming together.....

Orr is still faster than Hamrlik.

Hence why they considered him or Park first. :-)
