06:36 PM ET 03.06 | While Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard insists that he doesn't regret immediately coming back from back surgery to begin this season, the big man says that he could have sat out a significant portion of this season if circumstances were different. As Howard has battled back and shoulder issues throughout the season, it's clear that the center has struggled to get healthy after last year's surgery, but he says that this season represented a unique opportunity he didn't want to miss. "Looking back on it, I could have sat out the whole season until now and starting playing now, but I just felt like we had such a great opportunity," Howard said. "Some of these guys, their windows for winning are very small, and I just wanted to get back and try to do whatever I can to help this team, knowing that I wasn't in great shape."

Even if you were healthy after resting for most of the entire season you still would not be in basketball shape to be competitive.
